The art of conscious connection

Ritual culture

For millennia, rituals involving medicinal plants have been an integral part of indigenous cultures in Central and South America. They strengthen community, support us in various life situations, and serve as a bridge between humanity, nature, and that which operates beyond the visible.

In these traditions, plants like cacao or blue lotus are revered as sacred companions. They serve as medicine for heart, mind, and soul, teaching us to live in connection and awareness.

Ayana as an ambassador of a modern ritual culture

With Ayana, we want to bring this knowledge into today's world – mindfully, respectfully, and in a contemporary way. Our products invite you to integrate rituals into everyday life in your own individual way: as moments of pausing, alignment, and self-care.

In a fast-paced world, we believe that consciously giving yourself and your loved ones time is one of the most precious gifts.

Whether as a creative and energizing start to the day, during get-togethers, or in quiet moments – there are countless ways to live your personal ritual culture. Rituals that nourish, ground, and inspire you.

The magic of cocoa

When your heart starts to flutter

Ceremonial cacao is not only an incredibly enjoyable drink, but also an invitation to consciously feel, slow down and connect with yourself.

Unlike conventional cocoa powder, ceremonial cacao is made from the whole bean, processed with particular care – including the valuable cacao butter that gives it its natural richness, depth, and creamy texture. This gentle processing preserves what makes it so special: a rich spectrum of minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals that nourish body and mind.

For the indigenous cultures of Central and South America, cacao was already considered a plant of the heart. It was regarded as a source of joy, vitality, and compassion. Today we know that this effect is not merely symbolic. Its natural plant compounds support blood circulation, promote the release of serotonin and dopamine, and activate anandamide—a naturally occurring "happiness molecule" that fosters a feeling of inner peace and contentment. The gently stimulating theobromine has a pleasantly invigorating effect and, on a physical level, actually opens the heart by dilating blood vessels and improving oxygen supply. Thus, cacao combines a sensory experience with a subtle, perceptible effect on the body—it nourishes, grounds, and revitalizes simultaneously.

Preparation instructions

For one cup (approx. 200 ml) you will need:

  • 20–35 g ceremonial cacao
  • 200 ml water or plant milk
  • a pinch of salt
  • Optional: Spices such as cinnamon, vanilla, chili, or our spice mix
  • Add a little sweetener to taste – e.g., coconut blossom sugar, maple syrup, or date syrup.

Gently warm the liquid without bringing it to a boil – cacao loves gentle warmth. Slowly stir in the pieces until a velvety, creamy texture forms. If you like, use a milk frother or blender to give it even more lightness. Then add your favorite spices and pour the cacao into your favorite mug. Before you drink, pause for a moment: breathe in the aroma, feel the warmth in your hands, and set a conscious intention for how you want to drink it. Then take the first sip, let it work its magic, and warm your heart.
